A little over 15 years ago at the first Swell Sculpture Festival, then held in the Currumbin RSL Waterside Function space; the idea of Soundlounge was born out of a conversation between Anne Stovin, Rob Barre and Ben Treby.
The group shared a mutual passion and support of the local music scene, and wanted to provide a venue for local and emerging artists. When Anne’s enthusiasm met Rob & Ben’s inspiration, magic happened! Vicky Bradford was also brought in on the project early on and between the group ‘The Soundlounge’ was born.
On Saturday 23rd February, Soundlounge will be celebrating our 15th Birthday Party with close partners BLANK Magazine and Balter Brewery. Local and emerging artists BUGS, Clea, Sweater Curse and unreleased indie artist Tones and I will be performing! Be sure to catch this stellar local line-up!
