The ‘80s theme continues with the greatest mock rockumentary ever made as mythical metal band Spinal Tap turn it all the way up to 11 in their pursuit of fame and fortune. Or they will spontaneously combust trying.
The most quoted movie in music folklore has since taken on a life of its own, spawning actual hits like Sex Farm, Stonehenge and Big Bottoms, and even a difficult second album, Break Like The Wind.
Just like the band there was no plot or even a script. Incredibly the entire thing was improvised and mostly done in one take.
Warning: Numerous drummers were harmed in the making of this film.

24 Hour Party People picks up where Spinal Tap left off, charting the chaotic, possibly true story of Factory Records from punk through to the Madchester rave scene, told through the eyes of a local reporter (Steve Coogan).
Joy Division/New Order, The Buzzcocks and Happy Mondays feature in this darkly comedic, cautionary tale of what can happen when you mix music, business and Persian rugs.
What could possibly go wrong? Well, pretty much everything.
The soundtrack was produced by none other than legendary DJ Pete Tong, but that’s a whole other movie.
